Sandra reeves - new vintage

Everyone is familiar with recycling. Mention upcycling and you might get a questioning look. Upcycling is not a new concept – but it certainly is so much more than selling antique furniture at a flea market! Upcycling has evolved into a classy, creative, and environmentally responsible way to transform what some view as useless or unwanted products into new treasures of better quality and/or new functionality.

Furniture and other home décor items that Sandra has lovingly restored are sold at New Vintage. But there is more: she uses her education background to train people to see their own creative potential. Her customers and students learn the skills that will bring the old back to life, and back to usefulness. Sandra is satisfied when she knows people have created parts of a home that will reflect their identity.

“I am passionate about your learning how to gain new skills in painting, making signs, crafting up a storm with decoupage and stencils and using low tox paint to have an enjoyable experience."

The lessons learned from her mother and father have become building blocks for this business. Sandra’s mother always sewed. Her parents renovated houses. She was thrilled to be able to paint and restore from an early age. As the business grows so do the challenges. The biggest? – Juggling the needs of the family (husband and four active children) with work demands.

The mentoring of women who look to Sandra for selfbelief, new knowledge, and empowerment to connect and create is something Sandra hopes to see increase. She is a superb example of her wise counsel for aspiring business owners.
